Pan Fried Crunchy Cheese Sticks
Cheese sticks are probably the most known low carb high fat snack. It is easy and quick to make, gives a great taste and gives us that crunch that we often crave and need. My whole family loves them. I make them as a side with soup or salad or as a snack to serve in parties.
I just about always have sharp cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese in my fridge so that’s what I used.
I used a big non stick pan and made one big stick that I broke down in three pieces. I evenly spread 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese on my pan preheated on low heat. I then waited for the cheese to turn brown.
When it turned dark brown I started to gently roll it up with a fork. I know it is not the smartest idea to use a fork on a non stick pan, in my defense I was very careful not to scrape it up! (Maybe this is why I go through 4 non stick pans a year).
That really is all that there is to it. Spread it on a pan, wait for it to darken up, roll it up and serve. Delicious crunchy high fat snack or as an addition to a meal you need to increase the fat content to. Cheese is very versatile and fried like this, can be molded into lots of fun shapes. Just be careful not to burn yourself as it is very hot and very greasy.
